Nomenclature Note

Basionym: Q. crispula Blume (1851). Accepted as a subspecies by the World Checklist and Bibliography of Fagales (1998) and in earlier versions of this checklist, but now here treated at species rank following H. Ohba in the Flora of Japan (2006).
