Nomenclature Note:

Once thought to be a selection of Quercus rysophylla, now considered to be a hybrid of Q. rysophylla with an unknown species.

History:

Selected in the Netherlands in a batch of Q. rysophyla seedlings from cultivation.

Description:

It differs from Q. rysophylla in the fewer, less deeply impressed lateral veins and the more distinctly lobed and toothed leaves.
